What does "effective withdrawal date" mean?

If you withdraw from the university, the effective withdrawal date is the date on which you are actually withdrawn from the university.  This is different from your request date.  Because our refund policy is based on weekly increments, we process all withdrawals to go into effect at the end of a given week.

Examples:

  1. You request to be withdrawn at the end of your term.  Your withdrawal request date is today, and your effective withdrawal date is the end date of your term.
  2. You request to be withdrawn today.  Your withdrawal request date is today, and your effective withdrawal date is this Saturday.

Please note that it is your effective withdrawal date that is used to determine your tuition obligation and any applicable fees.
